Unorganized Manager, The
Part 1: Damnation
#ALG-Unorg-Pt-1
24 minutes

Sale: $870.00
Rental: $250.00

In the 1996 remake of The Unorganized Manager, John Cleese demonstrates how improved organizational skills can have a direct impact on efficiency, morale, teamwork and productivity. The key lesson is that managers and team leaders who can’t organize themselves can never organize others.

Cleese stars as St. Peter, the most heavenly of management consultants. He stands at the Pearly Gates awaiting Richard Lewis, the victim of a premature heart attack. The reason? Unnecessary chaos and self-inflicted pressure due to poor organizational skills and an inability to delegate. Through a series of flashbacks, St. Peter points out that Lewis’s mortal sins were leaving jobs unfinished, missing deadlines and generally making life miserable for coworkers. After reviewing a checklist of “II Deadly Organizational Sins,” St. Peter grants the executive sinner a second chance at management life.

Unorganized Manager, The
Part 2: Salvation
#ALG-Unorg-Pt-2
26 minutes

Sale: $870.00
Rental: $250.00

In the 1996 remake of Part 2, St. Peter realizes his task is not over. Lewis still needs to learn how to set priorities, schedule time for active tasks, and allocate time for reactive tasks. The fine art of delegation, and using tiny management aids such as automated and personal calendars, are just a few of the lessons Lewis must learn before he can truly call himself a manager.

Parts 1 & 2 Learning Objectives

bulletOrganize tasks into active and reactive tasks
bulletEstablish priorities in terms of importance and urgency
bulletSchedule active tasks and allow time for reactive tasks
bulletWhen delegating, brief and train others properly
bulletBe available for advice and check on key points

Unorganized Manager, The
Part 3: Divine Intervention
#ALG-Unorg-Pt-3
19 minutes

Sale: $870.00
Rental: $250.00

In Parts 1 and 2 , Richard Lewis learned with the help of St. Peter (John Cleese) how to manage himself. Now, he has to manage others. Part 3 looks at his people management skills, which are severely lacking. Even worse, he blames his subordinates for failures of his own making. Exasperated, St. Peter illustrates Lewis’s inadequacies and shows him that subordinates can do a good job only when they know exactly what they’re supposed to be doing.

Part 3 Learning Objectives

bullet Define responsibilities: establish key result areas and review regularly
bulletSet standards: ensure they are measurable and resolve shortfalls
bulletAgree on targets: make them challenging and praise achievements

We've Got to Stop Meeting Like This!
ELC-MEMAN
19 minutes

Sale: $795.00
Rental: $195.00

Put a stop to meetings that waste employees' valuable time

There's no getting around it. Meetings are a way of life in today's organizations where teams demand a high level of involvement and communication. But they don't have to be a waste of time.

We've Got to Stop Meeting Like This! shares a "how-to" formula for meeting management. It will show your staff how to turn even the most misdirected meeting into an organized, productive session where participants are valued, focused, and involved.

Synopsis
The action opens on a meeting that has been "hijacked" by Carl, a long winded accountant who has participants yawning, composing grocery lists, and thinking of reasons why they need to leave. It is the first of many challenges the meeting facilitator must resolve-from handling difficult personalities to sorting out objectives and plotting a clear course for action.

Through the course of this entertaining dramatization of a real meeting, your employees will learn how to save time by holding only necessary meetings, by starting and ending meetings at agreed-upon times, and by asking participants to come prepared. The video will help employees communicate better and use company resources (such as time!) as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Focus Points

bulletHow to create a detailed meeting agenda
bulletHow to support the agenda with clearly-stated goals, task delegation, and specific time frames
bulletHow to involve each participant in the meeting
bulletHow to resolve disagreements by listening, asking questions, paraphrasing, and getting feedback
bulletHow to use the agenda to stay focused and on track
bulletHow to end each meeting with action steps everyone understands

Included Training Items
We've Got to Stop Meeting Like This! comes with a Training Leader's Guide and one copy of the self-study book, Making Meetings Work, to help you reinforce the training points set forth in the video when employees attempt to apply what they've learned to their next meeting.

Self-Study Package
Additional copies of Making Meetings Work (92 pages, softcover) are available for distribution along with the video at $12.95 each. Significant multiple discounts are available.
